TRAIECT

We live in a time in which nationalist movements all over the world gain more and more power, claiming that culture is national culture which forms an identity, excluding other cultures. But this is not true: Culture always got life and inspiration from confrontations, from new strange things which made people curious. With TRAIECT, we want to contribute to an image of culture which believes in the productivity of being different. A culture which creates pieces of art from respectful confrontations, from the work of understanding and collaborative creation.
TRAIECT is an abbreviation for "Traditional Asian Instruments and Electronics". Each TRAIECT issue is dedicated to one country or cultural context: Korea (2017), Iran (2018), Taiwan (2020); with Vietnam and the Philippines planned in future years.
For each TRAIECT, 5-8 composers from different countries write a new piece for the traditional Asian instrument(s) and electronics.
